My big trip

I'm cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats. I'm planning on taking 14 days and have the following route planned:

Wed 29 - leave home around 10pm, cycle to Paddington and then take overnight sleeper from London to Penzance
Thu 30 - Penzance to Land's End, and then the journey starts from there.  Day 1 end up in Fowey, Cornwall
Fri 31 May - Moretonhampstead, Devon
Sat 1 June - Wells, Somerset
Sun 2 June - Hereford to stay with my mother-in-law
Mon 3 June - Shrewsbury,  Shropshire (a short day)

Tue 4 June - Frodsham, Cheshire
Wed 5 June - Newton-in-Bowland, Nr Clitheroe, Lancashire
Thu 6 June - Keswick, Cumbria
Fri 7 June - Moffat, Dumfries and Galloway
Sat 8 June - Balloch, Dunbartonshire
Sun 9 June - Ballachulish, Argyll
Mon 10 June - Inverness
Tue 11 June - Crask, By Lairg, Inverness
Wed 12 June - John O'Groats!  I will stay near Thurso, Caithness that evening.
Thu 13 June - Train from Thurso-Edinburgh-London

In total it is about 1,000 miles.

I've had the bike serviced...
... it's a Condor Fratello, a lovely lightweight steel bike.

And I've laid the kit out to see if it will fit...

It's important to keep things light, so clearly I ended up weighing my shoes!

(The top ones were lighter)

Anyway I will provide updates along the way, so watch this space!  Thanks for reading.
